I wanted to share why I made this piece of art. I read an article about how a Costa Rica forest was revived. I recently thought I would like to take the information and make a piece of art that expressed my thoughts about the Costa Rica forest. I used watercolors and build up many layers of color. I worked with orange as my main color. I used found objects that were circular and printed the images into my background. I wanted my background to look circular and have an orange peel texture. I uses stencils for the main words of the article to emphasis the information about the forest. I added trees that I cut out of recycled National Geographic magazines. I wanted the trees to blend in with the background and chose subtle colors. I inked around most of the shapes with white ink. The last step was adding recycled gum wrappers to add a touch of sheen.
